Crater Lake is spectacular. A volcano blew its top a couple thousand years ago and filled with snow melt and rain. The team were in awe of the incredible vista – but were not so impressed by the very loud friendly American chap who advised “Come over here to take your pictures – there’s no rope to get into the shot!” Yeah – the rope is there to stop us from tumbling to our doom in the extremely deep and frigid waters – I’ll stay here thanks.
What impressed me more is how, like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a car, a certain Trini will watch me gather snow, shape a snow ball, walk towards her and only start to protest after I have splatted her good. I mean cheese you guys – by now you must know how my mind works!
The snow was awe inspiring. In the middle of May us sea-level living Caribbean natives could not believe that the snow could be 20 feet deep and boy did we have fun. I made my first snow angel although Jim our host and chauffeur was not so ready for us to write our names in the snow (tee hee).
On to Aspen Ridge – our downtime break from our very busy and to be honest tiring schedule. A long car ride with some very flattering shots of slumbering team members.
